Boundaries...No Boundaries? Which life are you living?

Hi Team,

Below are the lyrics as well as a link to the latest American Idol winner Kris Allen singing a new song titled "No Boundaries" I think it's a great song with a simple but powerful message to learn from.

After you read the lyrics and listen to the song, ask yourself... "What type of boundaries have I put on my life or allowed others to put on my life?"

Write down every boundary that comes to mind. Then take as much time need to figure out how you can start removing those boundaries.

Click this link for lyrics and video.

No Boundaries Lyrics
Seconds, hours, so many days
You know what you want, but how long can you wait?
Every moment last forever.
When you feel you've lost your way.

What if my chances were already gone?
I started believing that I could be wrong.
But you give me one good reason.
To fight and never walk away.

So here I am, still holding on

With every step, you climb another mountain
Every breath, it's harder to believe
You'll make it through the pain, weather the hurricanes
To get to that one thing.

Just when you think the road is going nowhere
Just when you almost gave up on your dreams
They take you by the hand and show you that you can
There are no boundaries.
There are no boundaries.

I fought to the limit, to stand on the edge
What if today is as good as it gets?
Don't know where the future's heading
But nothing's gonna bring me down
I've jumped every bridge and I've run every line
I risked being safe but I always knew why
I always knew why

So here I am, still holding on

With every step, you climb another mountain
Every breath, it's harder to believe
You'll make it through the pain, weather the hurricanes
To get to that one thing

Just when you think the road is going nowhere
Just when you almost gave up on your dreams
They take you by the hand and show you that you can

You can go higher, you can go deeper
There are no boundaries above and beneath you
Break every rule 'cause there's nothing between you
And your dreams

With every step, you climb another mountain
Every breath, it's harder to believe

Yeah, there are no boundaries
There are no boundaries

With every step, you climb another mountain
Every breath, it's harder to believe
You'll make it through the pain, weather the hurricanes

There are no boundaries.
There are no boundaries.
There are no boundaries.

How To Enjoy A Good Cup Of Gourmet Coffee

Hi Team,

Are you tired of your regular Joe life and your regular Joe cup of coffee that you start your day with? Then it's time to reward yourself with something different. Why not jazz up your morning ritual with cup of rich gourmet coffee.

The dictionary defines gourmet food like this, "Gourmet food is that which is of the highest quality, perfectly prepared and artfully presented." If you want the highest quality food you go to a top notch restaurant but if you want the highest quality coffee, you can do that at home yourself. That gourmet meal is probably going to stay at the restaurant unless you invite a chef over but gourmet coffee can be made in the comfort of your own home with just a little practice.

Gourmet coffee is more expensive than say, supermarket brands but the taste is also much richer. Unless money is no object, why not save the gourmet cup of coffee for the weekends. Make it an end of the week tradition. Stick with the supermarket coffee for when you're rushing off to work.

To make your own gourmet coffee start with the beans. Gourmet Coffee beans can be bought by the pound and there are many varieties to choose from. Some of the most popular gourmet beans include Kona, Jamaican Blue Mountain, and Sumatra types.

Coffee beans are similar to wine in that they name the beans after the region. In the world of wine you have the popular Sonoma wines which come from Sonoma Valley in California. In the world of coffee the equivalent would be Kona beans which come from Kona, Hawaii.

Kona coffee beans are grown in rich volcanic soil and the mild tropical climate of the Kona coffee belt on the western side of the Big Island of Hawaii. It has a wonderfully full, rich and smooth flavor with little or no bitter after taste. Be sure that you buy Kona beans and not a Kona blend. A Kona blend can legally be labeled as Kona with as little as 10% of actual Kona beans in it.

Next you'll need to grind your beans. Ground coffee begins losing it's flavor once it's exposed to air. So you'll want to grind just enough to make your desired amount. Store any leftover grinds in an air tight container. You'll want to grind you coffee beans very fine but don't pulverize them into dust. If you over grind them the heat and friction will vaporize the oils that give the coffee it's distinct flavor.

When was the last time you cleaned your coffee maker? A clean coffee maker makes a significant difference in how your coffee tastes. At least once a month pour a mixture of half vinegar and half water into your coffee maker. Let the mix run through the full brew process. Repeat the process again using only water this time to rinse it out. Do this one more time if a vinegar smell is still present.

Now your work is done and it's time for the coffee maker to pull it's weight. Use clean filtered water and fill the coffee maker to the desired level. Use about 6 ounces of water for every 2 heaping tablespoons of coffee. Turn it on and hang around while it brews. You will want to be there to enjoy the delightful aroma.

Everyday coffee is perfect for everyday life. But every once in a while you should treat yourself to something special. And what better way to start a special than that with a special cup of coffee. Gourmet coffees can really jazz up your day. If there is a "Trader Joes" near you, go take a look at their coffee section. Not only can you get a wide variety of blends from around the world, they even provide a grinder for you to use.

9 Simple and Low Cost Ways to Gain Expert Recognition

Hi Team,

No matter what business you are in it always helps to be seen as an expert. If you were calling someone to fix a drain or sell your house you would approach the person you saw as most credible and reputable in that area of expertise.

To become an expert sometimes takes hard work and experience. It can involve study or the honing of practical skills. It  can also demand high standards of work. You can also make your climb to becoming an expert in your field much quicker and easier by learning from those who have already "been there done that".

Often times people who should be seen as experts are overlooked by others less qualified who happen to be better at marketing and self promotion.ere are nine ways to start establishing your reputation. If you know you deserve more recognition in your field but not getting it, you may want to invest time (and a little money) in the following 9 activities.

Publish a book or series of reports

The internet has made this much easier. You can now create an ebook that can be downloaded without having to involve a publisher. A well-written book or series of reports will establish your reputation as an expert in your field.

Publish a newsletter

Set one up on the internet and distribute it to your customers. This is an excellent way to regularly keep your name in front of your prospects as an authority on your subject.

Write press releases

Used correctly these can gain you a lot of positive publicity. Make sure the press release looks like newsworthy information and not like an advertisement.

Write Articles

By publishing information packed articles, you'll soon enjoy the status of being seen as an authority on your topic. This can lead to joint ventures and many other exciting opportunities that you would have never enjoyed otherwise!

Create a website

Set up a user-friendly website that will appeal to customers and you have expanded the reach of your reputation. Keep it timely and informative, and people will continue to return to your site. If you don't know how to set up a website there are plenty of web designers who do. Alternatively enquire at a college teaching web design. Some students might want to build a portfolio.

Join associations

If you are a member of an association it will enhance your credibility. But don't just be a member. Be an active member. This will build your reputation among your peers and lead to useful introductions. Membership can have many benefits, and it will certainly keep you up to date in your field.

Networking

You can boost your reputation and influence by speaking to the right people. Keep your name in front of your prospects. Organize mutually beneficial ventures. You cannot predict what may come from a contact so make as many as you can.

Public Speaking

Even speaking to a local group of people can establish you as an expert and get you referrals that may lead to a wider audience. If you are not sure you can speak in public, preparation and rehearsal are the keys to success. Make sure your presentation is aimed at the right level, follows a sensible sequence and will not sound like a dry textbook-like monologue. Write your main points on small cards so you are not relying solely on your memory and start in front of a small audience.

Teach workshops or seminars

If you have knowledge that people would like to tap into you can pass on your expertise. If your presentation is well planned you will be seen as an authority in your subject. You will also meet people who are likely to recommend you to others. If you are teaching a hot topic you will also be gaining a useful income stream.

Any of these methods will start building your reputation as an expert. Use them all correctly and you will gain the sort of reputation that will have potential clients approaching you without having to seek them out.

Your Mentors Club Success Library is full of training and Mentoring to help you with these 9 steps and many more to help you build the expert status you want, desire or need to take your business to the next level of success. Becoming an expert in your field is much easier than you think if you will learn from the success and mistakes of others. So get started today letting the world know just how awesome you are.

Paula began studying dance at the age of eight and was inspired by such performers as Gene Kelly, Debbie Allen, Fred Astaire, and Bob Fosse. She received a scholarship to a dance camp at the age of 15. While attending California State University, Paula tried out to join the cheerleading squad for the Los Angeles Lakers NBA team and was selected from a pool of 700. Within three months, she became head choreographer.

She created a DVD fitness series in 2005 called Cardio Cheer that is marketed to children and teenage girls involved with cheerleading and dance. She also runs dance and cheerleading camps, competitions, and scholarship programs throughout the country.

She received an Emmy nomination for choreographing the Academy Awards. One of her favorite career memories is being able to dance alongside her idol, Gene Kelly, in a Diet Coke commercial thanks to the wonders of technology.

10 Top Tips For Rapid Weight Loss

Hi Team,

In order to make the most of your weight loss program, finding the most effective ways to burn fat will maximize your results and minimize your waistline! Follow these 10 tips for fat burning if you want to lose weight and lead a healthier way of life.

1.) Drink More Water

One of the best weight loss secrets is to ditch the sodas and stick to water! Experts say you should drink approximately eight glasses of water a day to stay hydrated and healthy. Instead of turning to calorie-laden or sugar-rich drinks, grab a refreshing glass of water. In addition to flushing toxins out of your system, drinking water encourages you to build muscle.

2.) Eat More Meals

A traditional three-meals-a-day plan just will not cut it if you are in the market to burn fat. Your body is not able to metabolize large meals and will quickly turn any excess into fat. Many experts believe you should eat six small meals a day. Be sure you cut back on your food consumption at each meal, or else you will be doubling your intake—and doubling your fat storage!

3.) Work Out with Weights

One great way to maximize the amount of fat you are burning is to add a weight program to your work out routine. Weight training will not only tone your physique, but will strengthen your body and improve your general health. Lifting weights will also burn calories and fat more quickly than traditional exercising, and it will also boost your metabolism.

4.) Choose Protein

Choose protein-laden foods for boosting your metabolism and enabling your body to burn fat rapidly. In addition to burning fat, consuming a protein-enriched diet will help you rebuild muscle after work outs and maintain leanness of that muscle. Wisely choose proteins for your diet. Take great care to pick proteins low in fat so you do not consume extra calories.

5.) Cut Calories Wisely

It may be tempting to drastically cut your calorie intake when starting a healthy lifestyle. Instead, use a step method when cutting your calorie intake to minimize risk. Reducing calories too quickly results in your body rapidly burning all available calories, which will lower your metabolism. Furthermore, you are more likely to maintain your healthy lifestyle through this step method.

6.) Reward Yourself

When it comes to successfully dieting to burn the most fat, be sure to reward yourself. Everyone has temptations and favorite treats—so allow indulgence. You will be less likely to cheat on your new diet if you grant yourself small rewards. If you are a chocolate lover, treat yourself to a small square of chocolate or single chocolate kiss each evening.

7.) Avoid Marathon Work Outs

The biggest mistake people make when looking to burn fat and lose weight is to have one long, extensive work out session. Instead, break up your work out plan into small chunks throughout the day. Take a brisk walk in the morning, enjoy a work out at lunch, and then exercise more in the evening. In addition to staying active all day long, breaking up your work out will better maintain your metabolism.

8.) Mix It Up

Choosing to engage in a variety of quality exercises will keep your interest and best allow you to maintain your goal of burning fat. Instead of doing the same exercises each day—mix it up! Opt to swim laps one day, jog another, and bike the next. Rotating your activities will not only allow you to experience a variety of athletics, it will also allow you to better tone your body.

9.) Skip Happy Hour

For those individuals who want to burn fat quickly, avoid alcohol. Rich in sugars and carbohydrates, alcohol is a calorie-rich substance. These empty calories can add up quickly and take away from necessary nutrients that should be included in your daily diet. Furthermore, alcohol acts as an inhibitor for burning fat, allowing your body to store it more quickly.

10.) Try a Low GI Diet

A low GI diet is an excellent method of burning fat quickly. This diet encourages individuals to consume high amounts of foods with low rankings on the Glycemic Index. These foods are nutritious and will aid your body in burning fats and calories at a quicker pace. This diet includes many of your favorite fruits, vegetable, meats, dairy, and grain products.

In closing... there are many ways to drop off extra pounds. The bottom line is that it normally bloils down to eating less and moving more.  Your Mentors Club Success Library is full of exercise & nutrition mentoring. If you are serious about getting in better shape, Mentors Club furnishes you the how and why. You just need to provide the discipline to put into action what you learn.

We even furnish you mentoring on developing stronger discipline and how to stop procrastinating. So....  as a Mentors Club member, there is no excuse for you not to design, create and enjoy a better you  :  )

5 Great (& cheap) Ways To Make Your Golf Fitness Program More Functional

Hi Team,

Many of the top touring professionals know that winning on the tour today takes much more than a great game of golf. The field is far too competitive to leave any of the key contributing elements to chance. Preparing their bodies for play is a critical component to a golfer's success under the most competitive conditions.

How you structure your golf fitness program is essential to your overall performance on and off the course. Here are some ways you can ensure you are getting the most out of training program while utilizing the strength of your core as a building block for success.

Specific to golf – Get rid of the traditional gym machines which focus on isolating specific muscle groups and require no stabilization work by additional muscle groups. Integrate some old and new fitness tools which allow you to move your body in a more functional setting. These include cable machines, fitness balls, medicine balls, balance disks, traditional dumbbells and don't forget about the power of using your own bodyweight.

Increase Core Stability – More efficient movement creates more efficient power. Golfers maintain an athletic posture over long periods of time and require both trunk and core stabilization and endurance. By increasing your strength and endurance in the core region of your body, you provide both a solid base of support for rotation in addition to the proper transfer of power throughout the body.

Vary your Planes of Motion - A golf fitness program will have varying planes of motion as part of your weekly strength routine. Planes of movement include front to back motions, left to right and rotational exercises. Some good examples include multi-directional lunges and medicine ball wood chops.

Integrate Multiple Elements into Each Exercise – Each weekly workout should address all of the important elements for golf including flexibility, core development, balance, strength and power. Integrated training techniques will develop your skills in each of these areas and produce a whole new level of play. Examples of integration include a 5 minute dynamic warm up, roughly 30 minute strength routine, followed by 10 to 15 minutes of stretches. Each workout can be broken down into strength development for several weeks, core stabilization for several weeks, and power development as you move into peak season.

Progress from Simple to Complex - Begin your exercise program by mastering the simplest forms of exercises first. Progress your golf training design to increase in complexity as your body grows and develops and as you learn proper stabilization of your core region. An example of progression for the legs may be to perform two leg ball squats prior to performing the one leg version.

Before any golfer, pro or otherwise, picks up a club, they look at the capability of their body versus the requirements of the swing. Utilize these 5 tips to create a golf specific program that brings out the best in you and the best in your golf game. Make this golf season your most productive yet!

Make sure you log into your Mentors Club Success Library to find more great golf & exercise tips to help you with the 5 tips above. And you will want to spend extra time going over Martha Sue's B.I.O.N.I.C.  Golf lessons (Believe It Or Not I Can Golf) along with Dr. Jim Tindall's "My Health & Fitness" membership area. Your golf score will thank you for it :  )

Is Adult Continuing Education is Healthy for You?

Adult continuing education is not only very practical, it is good for your brain & body. And adults have advantage over children when it comes to learning in three areas.

* Better memory (truly!) read on before you close your mind :  )
* Experience
* Fewer distractions

Let's briefly go over these three areas one by one.
-------------
Better memory
-------------

Doctors thought that you couldn't grow new brain cells, so as old cells died you became more stupid. They now know that the more you continue learning, the more new brain cells you get.  Experts say that you can even delay Alzheimer's disease by keeping your brain active.

You might be saying... "But old people keep forgetting things!"

That's true, because what you remember best are startling, new, shocking things. To an old person it's a case of "been there, done that". Nothing is new or shocking. So by being able to pick new and exciting things to learn, you increase your chance of remembering things. Recent clinical studies have shown that seniors can memorize new things and earn higher grades in a class room setting over kids in the same class.

So... maybe a child has a better learning potential. But adults can be more capable of putting their minds to better use (for many of the reasons we go over in this article.)

----------
Experience
----------

You learn from the known to the unknown. So it's logical that the more experience you have, the more you can think "yes... that's right... it's just like...

I am 49 years old now and I can say that my adult continuing education keeps getting easier because there are always relevant things in my experience. I can draw from real life lessons to enhance my studies.

------------
Distractions
------------

You may have distractions at work still, but let's face it, are they really as obsessive as your teenage interests? As teenagers, every distraction takes on an almost do or die feel to it. You just had to go out with your buddies or on that date. You just had to get one more game of ball in. You just had to go to the mall.

As an adult, you aren't going to have to choose between going out on a date and doing some study. You might have to choose between having a nap and study. Or recording your favorite TV show to watch later after you study.

Yes... you still have distractions. But unlike many teenagers... you should have the discipline to work through most distractions that pop up when you go to plan time to learn. And by being a Mentors Club member, you have access to learning 24/7.

-----
Exams
-----

Just as your three advantages apply to study, they apply to exams. Were you sick with nerves in your school exams? Your life-career depended on your performance. Now it would be nice to pass, but your experience tells you that you will survive failure, and land on your feet again...so less nerves. Your parents are not going to ground you if you fail a continuing education class like they did when you were in high school.

------------------------------
Why Adult Continuing Education
------------------------------

All right, you have advantages, but why should you bother with adult continuing education? Here are just a few reasons why we must continue to learn new things.

* Prevents brain deterioration
* Retraining for a new job
* Self employment

I've already covered the effect of study on the brain. You get new brain cells.

In modern times you can only expect to keep one job for a short time. Reports have stated that the average adult will change jobs at least 6 times. Many times you are going to need to retrain for your next job.

Self-employment. You can't be sacked if you are self-employed, but you can go broke. It is best to develop your home business part-time until it is earning you twice as much as your job. Then if you are retrenched from your job you won't care. (Your Mentors Club Success Library & Referral system can help you with this)

Then you won't need to worry about adult continuing education any more will you? Oops... you will need to keep learning even more when you have your own business. For instance, you are going to have to learn book-keeping unless you can afford an accountant to do the work. If you have to employ people, you will need to learn the laws that apply. If you are an online marketer, the rules, tools and techniques are constantly changing. The most successful people continue to learn as long as their bodies will let them.

---------------------
How should you learn?
---------------------

I prefer to use correspondence courses like Mentors Club provides for my adult continuing education. But some people prefer attending classes in order to have an accountability instructor keeping track of their studies. However, recent studies show that most people prefer to learn new information by mp3 audios, ebooks, online videos and teleseminars. Which is why we designed Mentors Club the way we did.

Also... with the Mentors Club learning model, you will pay a lot less than most class room type continuing education courses. And.. you get to choose the time to study and learn from the comfort of home. So thanks to programs like Mentors Club... there are no excuses to not be learning new and exciting things that will not only improve your memory, but also the quality of your lifestyle.

10 Simple Steps to Save on your Summer Energy Bill

Hi Team,

Saving money on our summer energy bill is not only great for the family budget, but is also beneficial to the community. It takes only a few simple steps to cut your energy bill by as much as 20%-50%.

Saving energy doesn't have to be as painful as sunburn, nor does it have to cost much money or time. It has more to do with changing a few energy-wasting habits. And where costs are involved - such as having your cooling system checked annually by a professional - the expense can be offset by making your system more efficient and longer-lasting.

1.) Close draperies or shades during the day to block the sun.

2.) Keep cool air in by installing insulation and weather stripping.

3.) Cook on the grill to keep cooking heat outside. When using the stove, vent heat outside with a range hood.

4.) Use a microwave instead of an oven. Microwaves use less than half the power of a conventional oven and cook food in about one-fourth the time.

5.) Use the air-dry feature on dishwashers.

6.) Service air conditioners annually and change the filter regularly. Use a programmable thermostat to regulate the temperature in your home, and turn air conditioners off when no one is home.

7.) Use cold water rather than hot when doing laundry. You will save about 85% of the energy it takes to wash clothes.

8.) Use washing machines, dryers, and dishwashers after 7pm when energy costs are lower in most places.

9.) Save energy by using the fast rather than slow spinning cycle when drying clothes, since the fast cycle removes more water.

10.) Switch to fluorescent lights that use on-third of the energy than incandescent lights.

Remember that appliances account for about 20% of your household's energy consumption. A new energy-efficient refrigerator could save from $35 to $70 a year compared to models of 15 years ago. This amounts to between $525 and $1,050 during the average 15-year life of the unit.

Remind your family of the steps, and implement them into your life.

Blessings,

Avoid Financial Disaster with Good Planning

Hi Team,

It's tough to get by financially in today's fast-paced life.  With mortgages, car notes and massive amounts of credit card debt, most people struggle to get by from month to month.  With most people doing what they can just to pay their bills, few people are prepared for the unlikely event of a financial disaster.

They come in many forms; a storm like Hurricane Katrina, a loss of job, or a sudden illness can break anyone who isn't prepared for an unexpected interruption in their financial life.  But it isn't all that difficult to make preparations that will help you in times of a money crisis.  All it takes is a bit of planning ahead of time.

Here are a few things that will help you be prepared for the unexpected:

Get an ATM/Debit card - You may not regularly use cash or have a need for a debit card, but there are some circumstances where it may be necessary.  People from New Orleans who were temporarily displaced by Hurricane Katrina would have benefited from having access to cash even while away from home.  If you don't use one regularly, get one anyway and keep it in a safe place.

Sign up for direct deposit - With direct deposit, you will know that your paycheck will be in your bank account even if you cannot, for whatever reason, physically get to your bank.  This will help you in the event of illness or natural disaster that may have your local bank temporarily closed.

Sign up for online bill paying - You can pay bills even if you aren't at home via the Internet.  You don't have to use the service, but it may come in handy at a time when you least expect it.

Save some emergency cash - Financial experts recommend that you save at least three months' worth of financial expenses.  That's difficult, but every little bit can help.  Try to cut back on a few unnecessary items, such as that tall latte you buy every day.  It adds up, and you never know when you may need to access that emergency cash.

Set up a home equity line of credit - Unlike a home equity loan, which provides you with a lump sum of cash right away, a home equity line of credit provides you with cash that you can use a little at a time, and only when you need it.  If you don't actually take any money out, you don't have monthly payments.  But if an emergency strikes, you'll have cash available.  This can be particularly helpful if you find yourself out of work for a short period of time.  Your bank won't lend you money when you are out of work, so plan ahead of time and the money will be ready when you are.

A little bit of planning can go a long way when a financial emergency strikes.  If you plan for it now, you will have fewer worries later. And sharing Mentors Club with others to take advantage of their awesome referral program can be a big help, especially if you end up out of work. It is possible to build up to a full time income working part time from home. And that income can keep on coming even if you end up not being able to work.

You will want to also make sure you listen to interviews from our guest Mentors like Financial Guru Joe Pantozzi. Joe has several mentoring calls waiting on you right now in the Mentors Club Success Library.  And he will be providing a lot more financial & insurance related advice in the near future.

Yes... you can create positive change in your life

Contrary to a widely held belief that people do not change, I submit to you that people do change, even in dramatic, positive, life-altering ways.  I say this with full confidence as I have witnessed it happen time and time again.  Creating positive change in your life is totally possible. Yes... you can change yourself and the lifestyle you live.

When you are fully committed to making changes in your life, it will happen.  That commitment, based on a deep desire for growth, is half the journey.  Once you have made that choice (with total awareness and a honesty of your present reality), you are free to move forward towards a better new you.

The one constant in this universe is change.  Everything that exists is in a state of change. Ask any quantum physicist. As part of the universe, we are part of that cycle of change.  The experiences you have today will impact you in such a way that you will awaken tomorrow changed in some way.  Once you have hit your forties or fifties, the kid you were in your twenties is pretty much gone and a wiser you is standing.

Change is desired on a number of levels. In business we might be looking to be a more effective leader or manager in order to increase productivity.  That might entail changing how we deal with people by improving our motivation and communication skills.  Change might mean a new career, lifestyle or relationship.  It might mean building more confidence and self-esteem or learning how to be less aggressive.

Change involves inner work before the outer work can begin.  That is always the case. As Albert Einstein said, " The significant problems we face cannot be solved on the same level of thinking we were at when we created them." Steven Covey, in his critically acclaimed book, 'The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People', stresses the concept of inner work before outer work or change:

"The inside-out approach to change means to start first with self; even more fundamental, to start with the most inside part of self - with your paradigms, your character and your motives."

So, if change is to happen and if it is to last, we need to acknowledge that we must take a look at who we are now and who we want to be in the future.  We will have to be honest with ourselves and recognize reality as it exists and not as we think it should or could be.  We need to develop a high level of awareness and clarity about everything that we do as all too often, our subconscious tends to run the show and not us.  Most importantly, we need to take full responsibility for our lives and not place the blame elsewhere. That also involves giving up the need to control things…except of course, yourself. Until you are willing to do this kind of work, change will not occur, at least not enduring change.

Where are you feeling dissatisfied?  Where are you noticing dissonance in your life?  Where are you feeling stuck?  Identify the issues.  Now, recognize exactly where you are and then consider where you would like to be in the future if everything were running smoothly?  If for instance, your sales team is not performing up to budget and you are having a difficult time motivating them towards success, consider what a sales team that is highly motivated and successful would look like.  Consider what your role would be in achieving that goal?  Who would you be? How would you function?  How would you feel?  The gap between where you are now and where you want to be is where the work will be done.

In Life Coaching we find that your ability to succeed at your job is highly dependent on whether your values and passions are in alignment with your job and it's requirements. After some serious inquiry, you might discover the things that are called for in motivating your sales team. Say it will consist of more patience, more enthusiasm, more nurturing and more of a team atmosphere.  Are these the kind of things that hold value for you?  If not, you will be unable to be effective.

Do the important inner work of discovering who you are now, what matters to you, what you are passionate about and what you place value on. Are these things showing up for you in your everyday life?  If not, there is sure to be dissonance.

If being successful in your work is of great value to you then what are you willing to do and not to do in order to be a success?  Are you willing to make the necessary changes in how you are being? Are you willing to try something different? Are the things you need to do aligned with your values and passions?  What are you willing to say yes to and even more important, what are you willing to say no to?

Awareness, as mentioned is of utmost concern when effecting change. When we are living our lives in a state of true awareness wherein we are truly conscious of our actions, we can free ourselves from reactive, self-defeating behavior and realize our personal best.  Unfortunately, although we may think that we make conscious decisions, in reality our unconscious mind often impacts our behavior and when it does our actions are not truly under our control.  We can learn to recognize the unconscious, that part of our mind that has great power over much of our actions without us even being aware of its existence. In doing so, we can diminish its power over us.

As an example, try simply noticing that voice inside your head that gets very chatty whenever you are about to make a decision, especially an important one that could result in change.  Is it telling you that you're nuts to consider what you are thinking of doing? Does it say that you failed once before and will probably do so again? We fail to understand that the voice is out to sabotage us.  Just by noticing it you will realize that this inner saboteur is at work. In the act of noticing you begin to empower yourself to make truly conscious decisions that will result in positive and lasting changes in your life.

I have mentioned how changing reactive, self-defeating behavior is  key to realizing our personal best.  What is reactive behavior versus proactive behavior?  When you are reacting to life and it's circumstances you are on the defensive. You are not in control. Life's circumstances are dictating your behavior and actions versus your being proactive and in control of your actions. There is a good chance that you are being activated unconsciously as well. Example:  Your boss gives you what you consider to be a harsh criticism of your latest report.  Your adrenaline rushes and a wave of angry indignation rolls over you.  In that emotional state, you are unable to actually hear what he or she has to say because you are already defending yourself.  Your response to him is defensive and somewhat irrational.

You cannot control what he/she had to say but you can control how you handle yourself.  Therein lies the key to non-reactive behavior: your ability to handle situations in ways that prove productive versus destructive. Stop and think.  Pause.  Get your heart rate back to the normal range. Without taking anything personally, was there anything in what he had to say that had merit?  Is there some sort of deep learning to be had, either from him or you?  Could the perceived harshness perhaps have been amplified by your defensiveness?

" Being proactive means that as human beings, we are responsible for our own lives.  Our behavior is a function of our decisions, not our conditions.  We can subordinate feelings to values.  We have the initiative and the responsibility to make things happen." 'The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People', Stephen Covey

Life will always be throwing things our way, much of it unpleasant and challenging. That's life.  We cannot control life but we can control how we handle it.  If we are really aware and in tune with what is happening, we can learn not to add meaning to reality where there is no additional meaning needed.  For example, in the above incident, you may have reacted because you assumed your boss thought you were in the wrong and therefore not up to snuff. But that was just what you thought he meant.  What you think he meant and what he said are often two very different entities. Perhaps all he meant was that your work could have been better and he wanted to steer you in the right direction.

Often, adding meaning where there is none harkens back to childhood.  Your Father was always highly critical and you came to believe that this meant that you were a loser and wouldn't amount to anything. That is the type of meaning a child creates in response to an unpleasant situation. What really happened is that you had a highly critical father.  Period.  The most unfortunate part is that this type of reaction to criticism will often be carried into adult hood and anytime criticism is leveled at you, you respond with your childhood reaction: I am a loser.  The ability to control reactive behavior and see things for just what they are can make a world of difference in your life.

Finally, a word about perspective or attitude.  How we view the world or any given situation will dictate our effectiveness and our state of mind.  Change your attitude and you not only change the way you see things, you will change your reality.  If you approach your work/life as being tough, that perspective will trickle down into everything you do.  Try a new perspective on, one that will work in accordance with your goals and desires.
"Human beings, by changing the inner attitudes of their minds, can change the outer aspects of their lives."
William James/US Pragmatist philosopher & psychologist

Inner work means that we are laying the foundation for a mindset that allows us to make lasting changes that will create a more meaningful, productive and happy life.  Once the inner work is done, the outer changes will compound like bank interest.  Your authenticity will shine and people will be drawn to this new you.  You will view everything that happens as an opportunity for growth and grow and change you will.  The work you do and its subsequent benefits will spread into all areas of your life, not just the ones that you may have originally pinpointed.  The vision you held of the will become your reality now.

Your Mentors Club Success Library can help you change in physical, mental, emotional and financial areas of your life. The lessons in your Library are priceless. For instance, the new Mentors Club Real Life Legend weekly interview series started off with an AWESOME lesson from Tony Robbins. Tony is one of the worlds greatest experts in helping people make positive change in their life. So make sure you spend regular time in the Library learning from the worlds greatest mentors. You will be glad that you do.

Attention all Women - The Power Is Already Within You! (Men too)

Hi Team

Has anyone of you by chance heard of Emmeline Pankhurst?

Emmeline was born in Manchester, UK in 1858. She was the daughter of very forward thinking parents for their time, Robert and Sophia Goulden. Emmeline was highly instrumental in forming the UK's Suffragette Movement and in doing so she eventually brought about the right for women to vote.

Now OK, both our male and female readers could already be thinking, 'hey hang on a minute, this is an attempt to promote feminist views'. However I can assure you it is not because I am not out to promote any kind of political agenda. So please bear with me, especially our male readers. You're not about to come under fire here. After all, I am one of you and I don't want to lose my "man card"  :  )

Seriously though, the point I am highlighting here is the sheer belief that Emmeline held deep within herself.
This was that she could make change happen in a society that had always shaped and dominated the view that women had a far lesser role to play than their male counterparts. And that their worth as a human being was also far less.

This was evident by the fact that at that time, women could not enter many professions in particular the medical and law profession. Even by today's standards, in the UK especially, female barristers still have a hard time reaching the Bar Council.

Can you also believe that it was only in 1991, that the House of Lords finally overturned a legal ruling against women that had stood for centuries? Until then it was legal for a man to rape his wife in marriage. Only in 1991 was this barbaric law finally thrown out and replaced with new legislature making it illegal for a husband to assault his wife.

Imagine then, back in the early 1900's when the Edwardian society were still feeling embarrassed by their gaudy Victorian parents, the incredible struggle that Emmeline must have endured despite being arrested and thrown in prison many times because she believed women should have more rights. Especially the simple right to vote.

So here is the question that springs to mind.

What kept Emmeline going? What kept this amazing woman strong in the face of such adversity during a time where society had been trained to view women in an extremely poor light? Where did her incredible strength and durability come from?

The simple answer was the belief in her own power. The Power of One.

Now, the whole point of writing about this incredible British woman is to demonstrate to both men and women, that no matter what you face, how much you feel trapped, how much you want change or how much you are facing the disapproval of others, you too have that same power within you. If Emmeline could create such change back then at that point in history, you can do the same today.

Emmeline was fortunate because she had parents who were radical and fully in control of what they believed. They owned their own personal right to make the choices and decisions that they felt were right for them and they passed their passionate beliefs and attitudes onto their daughter who as a result turned society up on it's head.

Although she was such a free thinking spirit considering the time in which she lived,a period which had just emerged from a stiff, highly reserved Victorian era, ironically Emmeline cast aside her inspired thinking, which had so victoriously set her apart from the restrictions of the then society, when she refused to speak to her daughter Sylvia for the crime of having an illegitimate child.Refusing to have anything to do with Sylvia or her grandson, Emmeline died in 1928.

How odd that she had set so many women free, orchestrated a complete change of attitude towards women in society, achieved far improved standards of working and living conditions for women, and brought about their equal right to vote. Yet, she was bound up in a belief that it was wrong to have a child out of wedlock to such an extent that she disowned her own daughter and grandchild.

How sad that this gallant, free spirited woman passed from this life on earth without forgiving her own flesh and blood. Even more sad was that she could not see that Sylvia was now a product of a much freer society that Emmeline herself had created.

This was clearly a limiting belief that Emmeline held as a boundary to what she found unacceptable. And in some ways, it backfired (as limiting beliefs so often do) mostly because they lead to bad judgements and intolerance.

These two points are inextricably linked. Power and acceptance, power and acceptance, power and acceptance. If we say them over and over, they begin to chime harmoniously together.

Emmeline Pankhurst was an incredible woman who made the seemingly impossible happen because of her own power (what she chose to believe was right for her) and what she chose to accept (what she believed was either unacceptable or acceptable to her on a personal level.)

However, when she chose to adopt the limiting belief that her daughter was wrong to have a child out of wedlock, this choice cost both her and her daughter great pain. After setting so many women free, Emmeline actually trapped herself by believing it was right to ignore her daughter and grandchild.

We can all draw on many helpful lessons from learning about inspiring people like Emmeline Pankhurst. For example, we can ask ourselves:

Do I feel powerful enough to change my life?

What is acceptable to me?

What do I feel unable to accept that I am currently accepting?

What limiting beliefs am I holding onto?

One further point about Emmeline that positively shines out a mile, is that she knew who she was and what she was here to do.

How many of us know the same about ourselves today?

I know from the many clients I see that when I ask them to tell me who they actually are, they look at me with a blank expression and they struggle to answer the question. This tells me that they've become so bogged down in the details of life, that they know their friends better than themselves and that over time, they have become a complete stranger to who they really are.

Whether you're male or female, if you want to bring positive change to your current life or circumstances, you need to begin questioning and often change your perception of the way in which you see your own world. This means taking a shrewd and honest view of what you currently believe about yourself, the environment you live in and the role others play in shaping your life.

It's all about the questions you ask inwardly and the dialogue you have with yourself. Then taking a leap of faith in making choices and decisions that are right for you. Success really is a choice that starts in the mind. And we designed your Mentors Club Success Library to help you make the right choices. So make sure you are spending regular time in the Library to help you design, create and live the lifestyle you dream of. And don't forget about the substantial amount of money you can make by referring Mentors Club to others.
